Washington, D.C.
Chris Northcross is an award-winning filmmaker that specializes in creating short-form documentaries for the web. He is a veritable swiss army knife of video; his experience ranges from documentary and commercial production to digital animation and post production. He is exceptionally well versed in the art of field production and frequently answers to the term “video guy”.
Chris began his career as a technical director in Lansing, MI. He later moved to Chicago where he studied film and video at Columbia College and launched his career as an editor.
Chris was one of the first “road crew” video producers hired for Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign. His library of footage is impressive; he shot from the first day of announcement through to election day. During the general election, Chris served as the deputy new media director and director of video production in his native state of Michigan.
Since the campaign Chris has gone on to create videos for members of Congress, Organizing for America and several non-profits in the DC area. He is currently developing his first feature length documentary.
Though based in Washington D.C., he misses his adopted hometown of Chicago and tries to make it back to see his friends (and grab a slice or three of deep dish pizza) as often as he can.
