Social Media Outreach

Livia Iacolare

Between 2008 and 2011 Livia served as the Social Media Strategist for the Italian edition of Current TV, the award-winning cable TV network founded by Al Gore. At Current TV she developed and managed the social TV projects and all the social media campaigns, helping drive one of the largest and most engaged Facebook and Twitter audiences in Italy. Livia also helped conceive of, write, produce and star in “Geek Files”, one of the Current TV shows that explored technology trends and social media.

Before joining Current TV, Livia was the Italian Chief Editor at Intruders.TV, the first videoblogging network dedicated to Web entrepreneurship, Web 2.0 and innovation. She has been a contributing editor to Mashable and Wired Magazine and also lectured on social media management at IULM University in Milan.

Livia has also contributed planning all the social media initiatives for The Literature Festival in Mantua (the most important of its kind in Italy), the Science Festival in Genoa and the International Journalism Festival in Perugia.

Livia graduated in Modern Letters at University of Naples “Federico II”, the world’s oldest state university, and she fluently speaks Italian, English and French. She enjoys cooking delicious Italian meals, biking, traveling and writing comedy sketches. The first question she asks to someone she just met is usually: “Can you please teach me anything you love to do?”.
